The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Table

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of heroes who will separate from the main group to undertake their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.

The traitor then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous location.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their position as key figures in the powerful family could help the team reach places they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by the family.

This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.

Future Episodes

From episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Seekers and Schemers groups.

Viewers can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
